Heart Shaped Cinnamon Rolls for Valentine’s Day

Sharing is caring!

Are you looking for something special, sweet, and not too difficult or time-consuming to make in the kitchen this Valentine’s Day? I have the perfect solution: Heart Shaped Cinnamon Rolls! Everyone loves a good cinnamon roll, right? Who can deny that gooey sweetbread, slathered in cream cheese frosting and dusted with the taste of delicious cinnamon?! Yum. And the cinnamon rolls we are bringing you today have an extra sweet aesthetic… because they are adorably heart shaped! These Heart Shaped Cinnamon Rolls would be perfect to make as a dessert, as an afternoon treat to surprise your sweetie with, or as a special breakfast for the whole family to enjoy together on Valentine’s Day.

They are also ridiculously simple. These Heart Shaped Cinnamon Rolls can be easily constructed from the pre-made cinnamon roll dough that you can purchase in the store.  So while you may receive extra kudos for creating this (seemingly complicated) sweet treat, the truth is that it only takes a couple of ingredients and a few minutes of your time. Read on to see just how easy they are to make. (You won’t believe it).

To start with, pre-heat your oven to 400 degrees and grab your can of cinnamon rolls (get the large ones if you can, like Pillsbury Grands.) Take each one out carefully and unroll it into a long strip. Then you will take each side of the dough and curl it inwards, until the sides meet in the middle. Pinch the bottom into a sharp point. Now you have a heart!

Tip: Make sure that you pinch and press the point tightly so that it will hold together when the dough bakes.

Repeat this process until you have a whole tray full of swirling hearts. Aren’t they cute?

Slide the pan into your pre-heated oven and bake the Heart Shaped Cinnamon Rolls for 8-10 minutes. The cinnamon rolls cook rather quickly when rolled like a heart, so keep an eye of them!

Once your cinnamon rolls have finished baking and have fully cooled, it’s time to frost them. Many pre-made cinnamon roll tubes come with frosting, but you can also make your own or buy one that you really like. Some people like to do this step to make pre-made cinnamon rolls taste a little bit more homemade, but honestly they are going to be delicious, either way!

When you’ve frosted them all, it’s sprinkle time! Even as an adult, I still get a little excited about putting sprinkles on things. Of course, kids love this part most of all! If you’re not making these cinnamon rolls as a surprise for your kids, get them to help!

And that’s all there is to it!

(Except for maybe if you want to put them on a cute plate or platter, of course.)

We hope you love these Heart Shaped Cinnamon Rolls and enjoy them as part of your Valentine’s Day!
