Sharing is caring!

Cheap meals that kids love and are easy on mom to make are my bread and butter! Topping the list are ones I can toss in my favorite slow cooker and let cook all day and have dinner ready without lifting another finger. This slow cooker apple cinnamon oatmeal recipe has been one of this mom’s favorite for its simplicity and how much family loves it.

Slow Cooker Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Recipe

One of the best ways I have found to really save money is to add a breakfast for dinner to our menu plan every week. To make my life easier I like recipes for breakfast I can make enough to eat for breakfast for the next few days. So this slow cooker oatmeal is one that makes my list! I can make a big batch and we can eat it for dinner and then for breakfast for the next few days.

If you are my oldest daughter you will also eat it for lunch because she loves it that much.

I also suggest you mix up the fruit, based on what is on sale and season to keep your costs done. We like to use blueberries, strawberries and have even tried peaches. The hubs has a blackberry oatmeal on his request list as well!

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups Steel Cut Oats
3 tbsp Brown Sugar
4 cups Water
2 cups Milk
3 tbsp Butter
2 Apples
3 tsp Cinnamon

Directions

First peel and core the apples then shop the apples, or prepare any other fruit you plan to use.

Then spray the inside of your slow cooker with cooking spray.

Next, add in your ingredients in the slow cooker

Cook on low for 7 hours or high for 4 hours.

DONE! Sometimes I will serve with turkey bacon but normally it’s enough with some extra fruit on top!
