Simple Pork Loin Chops: Perfect for Kitchen Beginners
Whether you are new to cooking or are a professional in the kitchen, you can’t go wrong with a good, simple pork chop! Today we’re sharing a simple pork loin chop recipe that is sure to end up on your regular kitchen rotation. It’s easy, inexpensive, quick and delicious. Another reason I love pork loin chops because they are such a versatile entree. You can add your own flair to this simple recipe, or dress the rest of dinner up (or down) with your choice of sides! Personally, I love pork loin chops with a classic side dish, like green beans or mashed potatoes!
This basic pork loin chop recipe only requires 4 ingredients: pork loin chops, olive oil, salt and pepper! Sometimes cooking beginners can be intimidated by cuts of meat that they haven’t cooked before. If that describes you, then this recipe is the perfect choice to get comfortable with trying something new. Salt and pepper are all you need to bring out the pork’s natural flavor–you can always experiment with your own unique variations, later.
To get started, preheat your oven to 400 degrees. At the same time, heat an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat on the stove top. Personally, I love a good cast-iron skillet for searing meat. Add your favorite olive oil and swirl around the pan until it’s hot.
Season both sides of each pork loin chop heavily with salt and pepper. I’d suggest adding about 1/8 a teaspoon of salt and pepper to each side. Add your well-seasoned pork loin chops to the skillet and brown them on each side. It should probably take about 2 minutes per side.
Serve with a salad or your favorite vegetable for a home-cooked, satisfying dinner! What will you serve alongside these delicious pork loin chops?
